The company are an independent and forward-thinking multidisciplinary consultancy, working on a wide range of diverse and challenging transportation projects. They are looking to expand their small team of Transport Planners in their Fareham office.
This consultancy supports planning applications for new developments. As part of their team, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the future of transportation.
Responsibilities:
Project management of small and medium development planning projects.
Work with other consultancies in multi-discipline teams on development projects including residential, commercial, retail, and leisure developments.
Inspire, develop, and mentor less-experienced members of staff.
Prepare fee proposals for new projects and budget management.
Pursue business development opportunities and build client relationships Support in negotiations, and attend meetings with Highway Authorities.
Prepare and reviewing technical documents, including: Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Environmental Statement Chapters
Building, running and understanding the outputs of Junctions 10 and LinSig software
Highway design in MfS, DMRB, LTN1/20 and the requirements of Active Travel England and Healthy Streets.
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in all technical aspects of a transport planner role.
Project management experience would be beneficial.
Financial management of projects
All-round knowledge of guidance, standards and modelling
Experience with Excel, AutoCAD (beneficial), Arcady, Picady or LinSig
Excellent client-facing manner and ability to foster positive relationships with clients
Proficiency in negotiating with clients, project teams and highway officers
Experience of preparation of fee proposals (beneficial)
Good report writing and presentation skills
Mentoring of some junior staff in training and development
