We are working with a leading civil engineering contractor delivering complex, high-value projects across London. With a strong pipeline of concrete and substructure works, they are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor with a proven background in concrete structures and cut & carve construction to lead commercial delivery across multiple projects.
The Role
As Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will have overall responsibility for the commercial performance of a portfolio of civil engineering projects, providing leadership, governance, and strategic direction to project and commercial teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Overall commercial leadership across multiple concrete, basement, and substructure projects
Setting and implementing commercial strategy, controls, and best practice
Oversight of cost reporting, forecasting, CVRs, and cash flow
Management of commercial risk, change control, and contractual compliance
Senior-level client engagement and commercial negotiations
Leadership, mentoring, and development of Senior QSs and commercial teams
Supporting pre-construction, procurement strategy, and bid reviews
Final account strategy and high-level close-out responsibility
Experience Required
Proven experience in a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager role within civil engineering or structures
Strong background working on structures
Experience managing commercial teams and multiple project streams
Strong working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
Strategic, commercially decisive, and confident operating at senior stakeholder level
