Associate Electrical Engineer - Building Services
Bristol (Hybrid Working Available)

I'm currently partnering with a well-established building services engineering consultancy based in Bristol that is looking to appoint an Associate Electrical Engineer to play a key leadership role within the business.

With over 30 years of experience delivering mechanical and electrical design solutions, the consultancy has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial, residential, leisure, and industrial developments. Their engineers work closely with architects, developers, contractors and end clients to deliver practical and efficient building services solutions from concept through to completion.

The practice is particularly recognised for its focus on energy-efficient and low-carbon design, supporting clients with innovative electrical infrastructure, lighting strategies, and building performance solutions.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work across the South West, they are now seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer who can combine strong technical leadership with team management and client engagement, helping to drive projects and contribute to the wider growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and strategic leadership across electrical building services projects

  • Coordinate with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams
  • Manage project delivery including programme, quality control and technical standards
  • Lead and mentor engineers and technicians, supporting the development of the electrical team
  • Contribute to business development, bid preparation and client engagement
  • Support the wider leadership team in growing and strengthening the electrical discipline

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in electrical building services consultancy
  • Proven track record delivering projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, commercial or residential developments
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, British Standards and industry guidance
  • Experience using design software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux or similar
  • Familiarity with BIM and Revit environments
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage teams and client relationships
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership would be highly advantageous

Why Apply?

  • Opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within a respected consultancy
  • Work across a diverse portfolio of technically interesting projects
  • Influence the direction and growth of the electrical team
  • Collaborative and supportive working environment
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements
