We're working with a thriving, forward-thinking construction consultancy that's growing its Manchester team and on the lookout for an ambitious Assistant Building Surveyor ready to learn, progress and make an impact. From day one, you'll get hands-on experience across a varied portfolio spanning education, healthcare and residential sectors - including complex, multi-million-pound developments. You'll be surrounded by experienced surveyors who are invested in your development, with a structured mentoring programme and a clear, well-supported APC pathway designed to help you succeed.
You'll also be joining a friendly, collaborative office where development is encouraged, ideas are welcomed, and people genuinely enjoy working together.
Responsibilities as the Assistant Building Surveyor:
Supporting senior surveyors across a wide range of professional and project-based work
Assisting with contract administration and specification writing
Undertaking measured surveys, condition surveys and site inspections
Producing technical reports and documentation with expert guidance
Advising on design, construction, maintenance and repair works
Collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams
Gaining broad exposure across building surveying to support APC progression
Requirements:
A degree in Building Surveying (or currently working towards one)
Ideally 1+ year of experience within a consultancy setting
A clear ambition to achieve chartership (full APC support provided)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A proactive, organised approach with a genuine appetite to learn
Experience in sectors such as education, healthcare and residential would be ideal
