A well-established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of complex groundworks, reinforced concrete, and structural projects across London and the South East. This role is suitable for candidates from Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor backgrounds, provided they have experience working under NEC contracts.
You'll be joining a busy commercial team working on technically challenging schemes, where a strong understanding of construction methodology, plant, and materials is essential. The role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage change identification through to final account.
The Role:
Supporting the commercial management of civils, groundworks, RC frame, and structural packages
Assisting with pricing variations and compensation events from first principles
Reviewing drawings and specifications to identify scope change and commercial risk
Working with planners to understand programme impacts and entitlement (including NEC Clause 62)
Preparing cost reports, forecasts, and valuations
Managing subcontractor accounts and supporting procurement activities
Liaising closely with site teams, clients, and supply chain partners
About You:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a civils, groundworks, RC frame, or structures contractor
Background from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contracting environment
Working knowledge of NEC contracts (Option A and/or C advantageous)
Strong technical understanding of construction processes and sequencing
Comfortable working with detailed commercial and project data
Commercially aware, detail-focused, and proactive in supporting project delivery
