MEP Quantity Surveyor - Freelance (12 Months)
Bridgwater - Main Contractor
£450/day - Outside IR35

A leading construction main contractor is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a project in Bridgwater. This is a freelance position, running for approximately 12 months, fully site-based.

The Opportunity
You'll play a key role in managing major MEP packages on one of the UK's most complex and ambitious energy projects. This role offers autonomy, visibility, and the chance to drive commercial outcomes in a fast?paced delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Full commercial management of allocated MEP packages
  • Lead valuations, variations, change management, and forecasting
  • Work closely with engineering and delivery teams to ensure commercial alignment
  • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure value
  • Produce accurate monthly reports and maintain cost control
  • Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements
  • Identify risks and propose practical, bold solutions

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • Proven experience managing MEP commercial packages for a main contractor
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Confident operating on large, high profile live sites
  • Detail-focused, commercially astute, and proactive
  • Ability to work independently within a major project environment
