I'm supporting a privately-owned building services consultancy that is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join its Nottingham office. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of challenging projects across multiple sectors while developing your skills in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
The Role
You'll be responsible for delivering electrical building services designs from concept and feasibility through to detailed, fully coordinated installation drawings (RIBA stages 0-5). Working closely with colleagues across other disciplines, you'll play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard.
Responsibilities
- Produce and coordinate detailed electrical designs for a variety of projects
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and apprentices
- Review design documents and subcontractor submissions for quality assurance
- Contribute to project design strategies and attend client/design team meetings
- Carry out feasibility studies, surveys, load calculations, and utility applications
- Undertake site inspections and prepare technical reports
About You
- Degree, HNC/D or equivalent in a relevant subject
- Confident using industry-standard design software
- Up-to-date knowledge of design standards, regulations, and building regulations
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A team player who can also operate independently
- Professional membership (CIBSE/IET) desirable but not essential
