Are you a consultancy-trained Cost Planner or Quantity Surveyor looking to move client-side into a developer environment where you can directly influence scheme viability, early-stage strategy and commercial decision-making?
This London-based role is ideal for someone with strong pre‑construction experience in residential or operational living sectors (including BTR, co‑living, student accommodation or similar) who is ready to step away from consultancy and take on a more strategic, development-focused position.

- Shape project scope, budgets and assumptions during concept and pre‑construction phases
- Support PCSA processes with clear, accurate and commercially driven cost insight
- Conduct supply chain engagement and market testing to validate pricing and inform early decision-making
- Present commercial recommendations to senior leadership, influencing project direction at the earliest stage
- Work autonomously with the option to mentor junior team members, without formal line management responsibility
About You
- Strong background in cost consultancy, cost planning or early-stage QS work (contractor experience not required)
- Experience in residential, BTR, co‑living, student accommodation or similar living-sector projects
- Skilled in feasibility work, concept design costing, estimating and cost modelling
- Commercially astute, organised and confident communicating with senior stakeholders
- MRICS qualified or working towards it (preferred but not essential)
- Ambitious, proactive and motivated to transition into a developer-side environment
What's on Offer
- Up to £85,000 basic salary
- A genuine opportunity to move into a client-side developer position
- High strategic influence with limited delivery pressure
- Direct exposure to senior leadership and commercial decision-making
- Greater autonomy and trust, with freedom to shape early project strategy
- Long-term career pathways into development, commercial leadership or project strategy roles
