The Role
Due to continued growth within their Nottingham office, they are seeking an experienced Transport Planner or Senior Transport Planner to join their multi-disciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of projects, manage client relationships, and contribute to the expansion of the transport planning capability in the region.
You will work closely with internal teams and clients, delivering high-quality transport planning advice, and mentoring junior staff where applicable.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and technical notes
Providing advice in line with local and national transport policy and planning guidance
Undertaking junction capacity modelling using software such as Junctions 10, LinSig, Quickgreen, TRICS, and TEMPro
Using GIS software including QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo, or similar
Supporting preliminary highway design via AutoCAD and applying relevant design standards
Liaising with clients, project teams, and other key stakeholders
Mentoring junior staff and supporting their development
Contributing to the growth of the Nottingham transport planning team
About You
Strong report writing and presentation skills
Competent in junction capacity modelling, traffic forecasting, and GIS
Experience liaising with clients and managing multiple projects
Professional membership with CIHT, TPS, IHE, or working towards chartership (TPP/CILT desirable)
Highly organised, proactive, and detail-focused
