Freelance Site Manager
Location: City of London
Rate: £280 per day (Outside IR35)
We are working with a specialist contractor delivering a fast-paced interior fit-out project in London. They are seeking a freelance Site Manager to take control of the site for a fixed 14-week contract starting in February.
This role requires someone who is organised, proactive, and confident running a site independently while maintaining programme, quality, and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-day management of the site, ensuring works are delivered in line with drawings and programme
Coordinating subcontractors and organising daily and weekly workloads
Managing internal fit-out works and ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout
Monitoring progress against the programme and addressing issues early to avoid delays
Raising and managing RFIs and ensuring queries are resolved promptly
Ensuring all operatives have the correct, up-to-date drawings and understand their scope of works
Maintaining site records and keeping on top of emails, instructions, and variations
Managing health and safety on site, including inductions and ongoing compliance
Ensuring works are completed efficiently and to the required standard within the contract period
Experience & Requirements
Proven experience working as a freelance Site Manager on fit-out or interior projects - CAT A and CAT B fit out
Strong understanding of site coordination, sequencing, and programme delivery
Confident running a site with minimal supervision
Able to hit deadlines in a short-term, delivery-focused contract
Must hold valid SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, and Asbestos Awareness certification
