Overview


An established, multi-disciplinary consultancy providing engineering, design and surveying services is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join its growing Transport Planning team in Didcot. With offices across Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bristol and Cambridgeshire, the business has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions across a wide range of development sectors.

Role Responsibilities


As a Senior Transport Planner, you will play a key role in the delivery of transport planning services, including:

  • Preparing site appraisals, feasibility studies and pre-application advice

  • Producing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans

  • Undertaking traffic modelling and junction capacity assessments

  • Supporting large-scale residential development through the Local Plan process, including preparation of evidence bases

  • Liaising with clients, project teams and local authorities

  • Attending meetings with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders

  • Representing the business professionally and contributing to its continued reputation and growth


Skills and Experience


Essential:

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant subject

  • Proven consultancy experience in transport planning

  • Strong experience preparing complex Transport Assessments

  • Experience undertaking or interpreting traffic modelling, including micro-simulation (e.g. Paramics or VISSIM) and/or network modelling (e.g. SATURN)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Confident dealing with clients and other professionals

  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to represent the consultancy professionally


Desirable:

  • Chartered status in a relevant discipline

  • Experience in highway design and Road Safety Audits

  • Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships
