Senior / Principal Civil Engineer

I'm currently working on behalf of a well-established civil and structural engineering consultancy with a strong presence across Ireland and the UK.
They deliver a broad range of infrastructure and development projects, including marine and coastal works, public realm schemes, transport infrastructure and multidisciplinary developments. Following continued growth in Ireland, they're now looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Engineer to support the expansion of their Dublin team.
The Role
This is a senior-level position combining technical delivery with project leadership responsibilities.
You'll be involved in the design and delivery of civil / infrastructure projects from early-stage planning through to detailed design and construction. The role offers the opportunity to lead smaller projects or take responsibility for significant elements of larger schemes, while also mentoring junior engineers and supporting overall project performance.

Responsibilities
- Lead or support the delivery of civil, structural or infrastructure projects
- Act as Lead Engineer or manage key technical packages
- Prepare, review and approve engineering design in line with relevant standards
- Oversee technical outputs including calculations, drawings and reports
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders and external partners
- Support project planning, approvals and statutory processes
- Manage project timelines and budgets
- Contribute to quality assurance and health & safety processes
- Mentor junior team members
- Support business development activities where required
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil, Structural or related Engineering discipline
- Typically 5-10 years' experience within consultancy or contracting
- Chartered status (or working toward it). Chartership required for Principal level.
- Strong technical background in infrastructure, marine, transport or general civil engineering
- Good knowledge of relevant Irish / UK design standards
- Experience engaging with clients and stakeholders
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery
- Strong communication and leadership skills
