Senior Quantity Surveyor
Construction Consultancy | Hampshire
If you're a Senior Quantity Surveyor who enjoys delivering well-run projects properly - with the time, trust and support to do your job well - this consultancy is worth a closer look.
My client is a highly regarded construction consultancy based in Hampshire, known not just for the quality of its work, but for how well it treats its people. Staff retention is strong, workloads are realistic, and the culture is professional, supportive and refreshingly low-ego.
They work on a wide variety of well-designed, interesting projects across multiple sectors, so you won't be stuck doing the same thing on repeat. Quality and relationships matter here - both with clients and within the team.
Why this is a genuinely good move
This is a role for someone who wants responsibility and influence, without the burnout or politics that often come with senior positions.
A consultancy that actively looks after its staff, not just in theory
Trust, autonomy and respect at senior level
Varied, high-quality projects across a range of sectors
Sensible leadership who understand commercial realities and work-life balance
Clear progression and long-term career stability
The role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in delivering projects from early cost advice through to final account, while also supporting and mentoring more junior team members.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading cost planning, procurement and commercial strategy
Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
Contract administration and commercial oversight
Supporting project delivery teams and contributing to the wider consultancy
You'll be given the space to lead your projects properly, rather than firefighting or carrying unrealistic workloads.
About you
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a consultancy or client-side environment
Confident managing projects and clients independently
Comfortable working across multiple sectors
Professional, personable and commercially astute
Chartered status (MRICS) is preferred, but strong experience and the right mindset are just as important.
