We're working with a well-established civil engineering contractor who require a Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor to support their commercial team on major groundworks and infrastructure schemes across East Anglia.

The Role
As Senior QS, you'll be responsible for overseeing the commercial performance of multiple packages and ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle. Key duties will include:

  • Managing subcontractor accounts from procurement to final account

  • Preparing valuations, variations, and cost reports

  • Leading negotiations with supply chain partners

  • Ensuring compliance with NEC contracts and commercial frameworks

  • Supporting change management and Compensation Events

  • Providing commercial advice and support to project managers and engineers

About You

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering/groundworks

  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, ideally with NEC experience

  • Capable of working independently and managing workload effectively

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills

  • Available at short notice and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
