We're supporting a well-established specialist civil engineering and reinforced concrete contractor with the appointment of a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. The business delivers complex groundworks, RC frame and structural packages across technically challenging projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS looking to take ownership of key packages within a structured and supportive environment.
The Role
Reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of your allocated project(s) from procurement through to final account.
Key responsibilities include:
- Subcontract procurement and package management
- Contract administration (NEC predominantly, with some JCT exposure)
- Managing valuations, variations and change control
- Producing cost reports, forecasts and CVRs
- Supporting subcontractor negotiations and final accounts
- Working closely with operational teams to monitor cost and risk
You will be given genuine responsibility while operating within a strong commercial framework.
About You
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, groundworks or RC frame environments
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation capability
- Confident managing subcontractor accounts and reporting
- Degree qualified (Quantity Surveying or similar) preferred
