What You'll Be Doing
Working closely with an experienced site engineer you'll play a key role in day-to-day site operations, including:
Carrying out surveying and setting-out activities using modern equipment
Monitoring site conditions such as movement, vibration, noise and materials
Checking survey instrument calibration and keeping reference points intact
Inspecting works before cover-up or the next construction stage
Recording inspections, measurements and quality checks
Reviewing new drawings, spotting discrepancies and flagging them to the Site Manager
Supporting environmental and safety monitoring on site
Raising technical queries
Measuring and calling off materials, and organising deliveries and tracking material usage and waste
Taking part in daily/weekly site meetings and contributing insights
What We're Looking For
Some previous hands-on experience on construction sites - ideally in infrastructure, water, flood defence, marine or similar (placement or graduate experience welcomed)
Training & Qualifications
HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering
CSCS card and full driving licence
Tech Skills
Competent with surveying and Autodesk software
Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; MS Project is a bonus
