This small, well established Croydon based specialist design consultancy are part of a large utilities contractor group.
They specialise in structural design for projects in the power industry. These are highly technical, often specialist schemes and involve work projects such as power networks and substations.
You will be joining a very experienced team where everyone takes responsibility for their own projects.
This role is for a graduate engineer who is a hands on structural design engineer. You will be providing complex design solutions.
The role will ideally suit a high calibre graduate, with a year of two of experience in structural design.
Experience in the power sector would be highly advantageous.
The types of projects will include substation design, battery storage facilities, design of blast resistant buildings, switch houses, GIS buildings, buildings to house transformer cells and designing of specialist steelwork structures and supports underground and inside of tunnels to carry heavy power cables. There are refurbishment and new builds involved. Projects normally involve design in steel and concrete, with some masonry and can range from small up to multi million £ schemes.
The work is interesting and complex, with each project being different.
The role will include some travel to sites in London and the South East, for which a pool car is provided.
