Do you enjoy managing supplier relationships and ensuring projects have the materials they need, on time and on budget? Are you ready to take ownership of procurement processes and make a real impact on project delivery?

A well-established civil engineering contractor is looking for a skilled Buyer to join their procurement team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who can support multiple projects, source efficiently, and maintain strong supplier partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including sourcing materials, services, and subcontractors.

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality standards.

  • Support project teams to understand requirements and provide procurement solutions aligned with schedules.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with company procedures.

  • Assist with tendering, supplier evaluations, and cost-control initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a procurement or buying role, ideally within construction or civil engineering.

  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

  • Knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing procedures.

  • Good organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with procurement software is a plus.
