An established and progressive property management and development company is expanding its North London team and is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support a growing residential portfolio. Working across a diverse mix of refurbishments and new-build schemes, this is an opportunity to step into a position where your technical expertise will directly influence project outcomes and long-term asset performance.

Your responsibilities as the Building Surveyor will include:

  • Undertaking building condition surveys, defect investigations, and feasibility assessments

  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation

  • Managing procurement and appointing consultants and contractors

  • Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent

  • Monitoring site progress, quality, and health & safety compliance

  • Providing technical advice on building pathology, repairs, maintenance, and statutory compliance

  • Managing budgets, cost reporting, and value-engineering opportunities

  • Coordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams

  • Controlling change, managing risk, and maintaining quality standards

  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and external partners

  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard

Requirements:

  • A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or similar

  • MRICS / MCIOB status (or working towards) is advantageous

  • Solid experience in UK residential building surveying

  • Strong technical knowledge across construction, refurbishment, and maintenance

  • A good working knowledge of building regulations and property legislation

  • Confident communication, reporting, and client-facing skills

  • The ability to manage multiple projects without losing momentum

  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with natural leadership qualities
