An established and progressive property management and development company is expanding its North London team and is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support a growing residential portfolio. Working across a diverse mix of refurbishments and new-build schemes, this is an opportunity to step into a position where your technical expertise will directly influence project outcomes and long-term asset performance.
Your responsibilities as the Building Surveyor will include:
Undertaking building condition surveys, defect investigations, and feasibility assessments
Preparing specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation
Managing procurement and appointing consultants and contractors
Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent
Monitoring site progress, quality, and health & safety compliance
Providing technical advice on building pathology, repairs, maintenance, and statutory compliance
Managing budgets, cost reporting, and value-engineering opportunities
Coordinating multi-disciplinary consultant teams
Controlling change, managing risk, and maintaining quality standards
Building strong relationships with stakeholders, clients, and external partners
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard
Requirements:
A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or similar
MRICS / MCIOB status (or working towards) is advantageous
Solid experience in UK residential building surveying
Strong technical knowledge across construction, refurbishment, and maintenance
A good working knowledge of building regulations and property legislation
Confident communication, reporting, and client-facing skills
The ability to manage multiple projects without losing momentum
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with natural leadership qualities
