Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Assistant Health & Safety Advisor to support the delivery of a robust health and safety framework across our London civil engineering operations.
This role will partner with operational and corporate stakeholders to ensure legal compliance, strengthen governance, and embed a positive safety culture. The successful candidate will provide pragmatic advice, lead risk management activity, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on UK health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Support the implementation of the Health & Safety strategy and improvement plans.
- Conduct and review risk assessments across office and operational environments.
- Lead investigations into incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
- Carry out audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Monitor KPIs and produce clear reports for senior leadership.
- Support contractor management, fire safety, and emergency preparedness arrangements.
- Deliver training, briefings, and awareness sessions to promote a strong safety culture.
About You
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Experience in a Health & Safety Advisor role within a corporate or commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Confident conducting audits, investigations, and risk assessments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- IOSH membership (or working towards) desirable.
