About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career in estimating within the civil and ground engineering sector.

This development role is designed to provide hands-on experience in the tendering process, supporting an established Estimating team while learning from industry experts. The successful candidate will gain a full understanding of how tenders are prepared, priced, and submitted - with the opportunity to take on more responsibility as their confidence and capability grow.



Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Estimating team throughout all stages of the bid process

  • Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to understand client requirements

  • Assist in developing technical and commercial solutions alongside the design and project teams

  • Help prepare cost plans, price schedules, and tender submissions

  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure accurate resource planning and risk assessment

  • Maintain professional communication with clients to support positive relationships and repeat business

  • Contribute to handover meetings for secured projects

  • Ensure all work aligns with company standards, procedures, and safety values



About You

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Able to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure

  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Eager to learn and develop within the construction or ground engineering sector

  • Awareness of the UK construction or geotechnical market is an advantage
