Are you a TBM Shift Engineer looking for a new opportunity? Do you have tunnelling experience working for a civil engineering contractor on infrastructure projects? Are you interested in working on an exciting new project on a long-term contract? If so, then we may have the right role for you!
Our client is looking to add an experienced TBM Shift Engineer to their current team. You will be reporting to the Shift Manager for works on the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) during the shift as excavation continues.
Job Details:
Site-based engineering role supporting live TBM operations
Involved in the day-to-day control and monitoring of excavation activities
Working closely with TBM Shift Managers, TBM crews and engineering teams
Shift-based role on a long-term tunnelling project
Key responsibilities
Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with approved RAMS
Confirm excavation activities follow current operational instruction sheets
Control segment supply and ring building sequences
Select and record ring orientation to maintain TBM alignment
Check and record ring plane data
Record and log damage to segments on the TBM database
Log critical path activities and shift progress
Record geology from excavated spoil
Support TBM mechanical engineers during interventions
Log tool changes and intervention activities
Liaise with TBM crews and communicate key operational information
Maintain professional engineering standards and ongoing development
Candidate profile
Engineering background within tunnelling, TBM or heavy civil works
Experience working on live construction sites in a shift environment
Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
Confident communicator within multi-disciplinary site teams
The ideal candidate will have:
A current and relevant CSCS Card
Able to display experience in a similar role working with a civils contractor
Tunnelling experience
