We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Site Engineer to join our team on a construction project in West London involving significant steel and structural steel works. This is a key role on a high-profile build, working alongside an experienced site and engineering team to deliver complex steel structures to industry standards. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day engineering and site coordination of steel packages, ensuring that all works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Setting out and surveying for structural steel erection and associated works
Ensuring all works are carried out to design specifications and engineering drawings
Coordinating with steel fabricators, subcontractors, and crane teams on site activities
Monitoring construction progress and reporting against programme targets
Supporting the QA process - inspections, documentation, and compliance with BS EN 1090 and relevant standards
Maintaining accurate records including site diaries, ITPs, RFIs, and redline drawings
Contributing to the development and implementation of safe systems of work
Working closely with the Project Engineer and Site Manager to resolve technical queries and drive quality outcomes
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil or Structural Engineering
Minimum 2-5 years' site-based experience, ideally with a focus on steel structures
Proficient in using surveying instruments (total station, GPS, levels)
Sound knowledge of UK building regulations, structural steel erection processes, and temporary works
CSCS card required; SSSTS or SMSTS advantageous
Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
Experience working on complex steel or mixed-material construction projects is highly beneficial
