Our client, a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a high-profile infrastructure programme in Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to play a key role in delivering large-scale works across the region.

The Role

  • Lead commercial and cost-management activities across a major civil engineering package.

  • Take ownership of valuations, forecasting, and reporting to ensure financial accuracy and performance.

  • Manage subcontract procurement and administration, including variations, change control and final accounts.

  • Provide commercial advice to project and delivery teams, ensuring compliance with contract terms.

  • Support value engineering, risk management and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to the ongoing development of commercial best practice.

About You

  • Experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior QS with a proven background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects.

  • Excellent understanding of NEC contracts and commercial reporting procedures.

  • Strong stakeholder-management skills with the confidence to challenge and influence project decisions.

  • High level of numeracy and attention to detail, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports.

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (MRICS desirable but not essential).
