We're working with a respected engineering and construction contractor delivering a diverse range of technically challenging projects across the UK. They're now seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of key schemes, driving performance, profitability, and commercial success.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll lead the commercial and financial management of multiple construction and engineering projects. Responsibilities will include:
Managing budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete reporting
Administering contracts (JCT / NEC), variations, and final accounts
Leading procurement strategies and managing subcontractor relationships
Producing commercial reports and supporting internal governance
Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
Supporting dispute resolution and ensuring compliance with company and client procedures
Mentoring and developing junior members of the commercial team
Building strong client and stakeholder relationships
About You
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
Minimum of five years' experience in a similar role within construction or engineering
Strong commercial awareness and sound understanding of contract law (NEC / JCT)
Experience within fire protection or specialist trades is highly desirable but not essential
Proficient with commercial software (e.g. CostX, Bluebeam, Excel)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
