Principal / Associate Electrical Engineer - Building Services
Bristol | Hybrid | Permanent | 36.25 hours per week
Are you ready to take the lead on high-impact projects while shaping the future of sustainable building design?
I'm recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking, low-carbon building services consultancy that's looking for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to strengthen their Bristol team. This isn't just another technical role - it's a genuine opportunity to take ownership of projects, influence team direction, and be a visible part of a company that prioritises sustainability, innovation, and people.
With a broad project portfolio spanning healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and complex industrial developments, the work here is varied, meaningful, and technically stimulating.
What you'll be doing:
Leading projects from concept to completion
Representing the company in client meetings and presentations
Guiding junior and mid-level engineers through technical delivery
Developing low/zero carbon strategies in line with net zero targets
Acting as a key contributor to bids, client relationships, and team growth
What we're looking for:
Proven experience in electrical building services design
Degree-qualified or HNC/HND with equivalent experience
Competent in Revit, Amtech, Dialux/Relux and the usual design tools
Knowledge of UK Building Regs, British Standards, and ideally HTMs
Strong leadership, communication and project management skills
Chartered or working towards CEng via CIBSE or IET
Why it's worth a conversation:
Clear path to further progression (whether technical or leadership-focused)
Agile working model with real flexibility
Competitive salary and enhanced leave policies
EV and cycle-to-work schemes
CPD support, EAP, and full team-building allowance
A genuinely inclusive and supportive company culture
If you're looking to join a consultancy that's serious about technical excellence and sustainability - and where you'll be empowered to make an impact - this could be a great fit.
