Mechanical / Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services | London | Growing Consultancy | Flexible Working

I'm working with a growing MEP design consultancy based in Farringdon, London, who are looking to appoint a Mechanical or Senior Mechanical Engineer to support their continued expansion.

Established in 2020, this is a modern, design-led consultancy with a reputation for delivering technically challenging commercial and residential schemes. The team is collaborative, pragmatic, and proactive - and they're now looking for a mechanical building services engineer who's confident leading projects, working directly with clients, and contributing to the wider development of the business.

This role suits someone who's comfortable working independently, technically strong, and keen to play a key role in a growing company with genuine long-term opportunities.

The Role

  • Lead or support the delivery of mechanical building services designs across all RIBA stages

  • Act as mechanical lead on projects, engaging with clients and external consultants

  • Develop detailed designs, specifications, and contract documentation

  • Carry out HVAC load calculations and modelling using industry-standard tools

  • Provide input on programme, cost, and scope management

  • Mentor junior staff and collaborate across MEP disciplines

What They're Looking For

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical building services

  • Confident using Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC simulation tools like IES VE

  • Experience with commercial office and/or high-density residential projects

  • Able to manage projects independently and communicate effectively with clients

  • Chartered or working towards Chartership with CIBSE or IMechE

Why Join?

  • A young, fast-growing consultancy with a modern approach to design and delivery

  • Supportive, non-hierarchical team with strong technical leadership

  • Trusted to manage your time and take ownership of your work

  • Varied, technically interesting projects in London and the Southeast

Benefits

  • Competitive salary (depending on experience)

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays

  • Pension contributions

  • Annual discretionary bonus

  • Private healthcare

  • Flexible working
