About the Role
You'll be responsible for managing the design process on industrial projects from pre-construction through to completion. Working closely with the pre-con, planning, and delivery teams, you'll ensure the seamless coordination of design information across all project stages.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate the design process from tender through to handover
Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve design issues
Lead design meetings and workshops
Review and comment on drawings, specifications, and technical submittals
Monitor design progress against programme and report to senior stakeholders
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and design standards
Identify and manage design-related risks and opportunities
Support value engineering and innovation throughout the design phase
Requirements
Proven experience as a Design Manager working for a main contractor
Experience delivering industrial schemes (e.g. warehouses, data centres)
Confident managing the full design process on site and at pre-con stage
Strong coordination, communication, and technical review skills
Flexible to work between office, site, and home as needed
Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, or construction management
