This is an exciting opportunity to join a close-knit technical team where autonomy, accountability and performance are genuinely valued.

This role will suit an experienced Design and Technical Manager who enjoys taking full ownership of projects from the earliest pre-planning stages through to completion. You will be trusted to manage the full technical process with minimal oversight, supported by a Senior Design Manager and reporting directly into the Technical Director.

The role

  • Managing multiple residential projects ranging from 30 to 150 units

  • Taking schemes from pre-planning through planning, detailed design, construction and completion

  • Leading the technical process across all stages, ensuring programmes are met and risks are managed proactively

  • Coordinating consultants and managing the production of construction and technical packs

  • Discharging planning conditions and supporting the planning process where required

  • Working closely with internal teams and site teams to ensure smooth delivery

  • Attending site regularly and maintaining a hands-on approach to project delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering residential projects from start to finish

  • Ideally experience at pre-planning stage, although strong technical delivery experience is essential

  • Background working for a residential developer or main contractor preferred

  • Consultancy background considered where candidates can demonstrate hands-on project ownership and delivery

  • Comfortable working within an SME environment where flexibility, initiative and responsibility are key

  • Self-sufficient, proactive and confident managing all technical processes without the need for close supervision

Must have

  • Experience dealing with planning conditions and producing construction packs

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Willingness to work from the office and travel regularly to sites across Kent, Sussex and London

Why is this an opportunity for you

  • A genuine opportunity to take ownership of projects and make a visible impact

  • Performance is recognised and rewarded, with a strong bonus structure that heavily reflects individual contribution as well as company performance

  • Ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys being trusted to deliver and wants their hard work to translate into tangible rewards

If you are driven, ambitious and motivated by performance, this is an opportunity to step into a role where your contribution truly matters and is recognised accordingly.
