We are seeking a driven cost manager to join a rapidly expanding London infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise on high-profile projects.
As cost manager, you will provide vital budget forecasting, change management, and commercial guidance across diverse infrastructure sectors. This role allows you to apply your technical skills and contracts knowledge while collaborating with stakeholders. You will ensure financial viability through accuracy, governance, and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily cost management including preparing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, change controls, and cash flows for construction projects
Lead the financial governance processes including ensuring proper approvals, reporting structures, and audits are in place
Manage and value contracts using best practices under industry standard terms like NEC3
Negotiate change orders and additional works with contractors to maintain project budgets
Identify, track, and manage cost reduction opportunities through value engineering and scope adjustments
Prepare and agree on final accounts and contractual close-outs
Mentor junior staff on cost management best practices and contracting
Requirements:
Proven experience in cost and commercial management of construction projects
Excellent knowledge of accounting, cost control, and contracting principles
Strong analytical, negotiation, communication and client management skills
Proficiency in using cost management and contracting software
Relevant professional qualification from an accredited body preferred
Ability to make sound judgements and identify cost management solutions
Demonstrated leadership qualities and team collaboration skills
