CDM / H&S Consultant
We are working with a leading construction consultancy to appoint a collaborative and motivated CDM / Health & Safety Consultant to join their established Project & Programme Services team.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly respected, forward-thinking consultancy delivering some of the UK's most exciting and prestigious construction projects across the South of England, East Anglia and the Midlands.
Based from the Cambridge office, you'll work closely with teams across Oxford and the wider London & South East region, with flexibility to work from home and client offices/sites.
The Role
As a CDM / H&S Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality CDM and health & safety services in line with CDM Regulations 2015. The focus of this role includes undertaking the Principal Designer (PD) function, PD advisory services, and supporting clients in meeting their statutory duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising and assisting clients in fulfilling their duties under CDM 2015
- Delivering the Principal Designer role and providing PD advisory services
- Undertaking design risk reviews with designers in line with legislation and best practice
- Carrying out H&S audits and site inspections
- Reviewing RAMS and supporting accident investigations
- Producing and reviewing H&S policies and procedures
- Ensuring quality assurance processes are followed
- Keeping up to date with legislative and best practice changes
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development and identifying opportunities with new clients
About You
You will be a proactive and professional CDM Consultant with strong technical knowledge and excellent client-facing skills.
Requirements:
- Strong experience delivering CDM services with a solid understanding of CDM 2015
- Sound technical health & safety knowledge within the construction industry
- Experience on construction projects valued at £5m+
- Background in construction and/or design
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- Appropriate CSCS Card
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. TechIOSH, IMaPS)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Full UK Driving Licence
