Senior / Principal Building Services Engineer

A well-established building services consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Building Services Engineer to join its growing team working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the built environment.
With over three decades of experience, this consultancy specialises in mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) engineering design for both new build and refurbishment projects. Their work spans a wide range of sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, leisure and industrial developments, delivering practical, sustainable engineering solutions for clients across the UK.
The business has a strong focus on low-carbon design, energy efficiency and sustainable building services, supporting clients with feasibility studies, energy and carbon assessments, building services design and full project delivery from concept through to completion.
This role would suit an experienced engineer who enjoys working within a collaborative consultancy environment and wants to play a key role in delivering technically challenging projects.
The Role
As a Senior / Principal Engineer, you will:
Lead the design and delivery of building services engineering projects
Provide mechanical and/or electrical design expertise across a variety of sectors
Work closely with architects, contractors and clients throughout the project lifecycle
Undertake feasibility studies, surveys and technical reports
Contribute to low carbon and sustainable design strategies
Oversee project delivery including contract administration and technical coordination
Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
Requirements
Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
Strong experience within a building services consultancy environment
Proven background delivering MEP design on building projects
Knowledge of sustainable design, energy performance and low carbon technologies
Experience across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, education or residential
Chartered or working towards Chartership (CIBSE / IET / IMechE) desirable
