An established and rapidly growing civil and environmental engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Highways Engineer to join its Manchester team. The Role
Reporting to the Highways Engineering Team Lead, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of medium-to-large infrastructure projects. The position offers a varied mix of technical design work, project coordination, client engagement, and mentoring opportunities.
You will contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that create safer, more sustainable, and future-focused communities.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver design packages for highways, infrastructure, and public realm projects
Prepare designs in accordance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including CDM 2015
Support project delivery, programme management, and commercial objectives
Liaise with clients, local authorities, contractors, and key project stakeholders
Contribute to technical excellence and best practice across the engineering team
Support and mentor junior engineers and graduates where required
Ensure projects are delivered to a high technical standard, on time and within budget
What We're Looking For
Minimum of 2 years' experience in highways and/or public realm design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Proven ability to deliver projects successfully from concept through to completion
A proactive and positive approach with a willingness to learn and support colleagues
