An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Civil Design Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy in Liverpool.
Due to continued expansion, recent project wins and a strong pipeline of work, the business is looking to strengthen its civil engineering team with an engineer experienced in infrastructure and development-led design.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects within the education, commercial, healthcare and residential sectors, supporting schemes from early feasibility and planning stages through to detailed design and construction.
The Role
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will be involved in delivering civil engineering design solutions across a variety of development projects. You will work within a multidisciplinary team alongside engineers, planners and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing civil infrastructure designs to support development and masterplanning projects
Designing drainage systems in accordance with current standards, legislation and SuDS principles
Preparing highway and access designs in line with relevant UK design codes and adoption requirements
Supporting feasibility studies, planning applications and technical assessments
Liaising with local authorities, statutory undertakers, clients and other stakeholders
Producing technical drawings, reports and supporting design documentation
Contributing to project delivery from concept through to detailed design and construction stages
Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards and industry best practice
About You
The successful candidate will have:
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Experience in civil/infrastructure design within a UK consultancy environment
Working towards or holding a professional qualification (MICE, IEng, CEng, CIWEM or equivalent)
Strong understanding of drainage, highways and general infrastructure design principles
Experience using industry software such as Civil 3D, InfoDrainage, MicroDrainage, InfraWorks, Site3D, PDS or Flow
Good knowledge of relevant UK standards and legislation
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
A proactive attitude and willingness to develop professionally
